User Reports on eSense

We asked our customers to tell us about their experiences with eSense. Here are some of the answers they gave. (We only post with the user's agreement)

Customer: Martin Ott from Itzehoe

Question 1: For what application (e.g. stress relief) did you buy eSense?

Answer: Ultimately it was to check my ability to relax, which I have been actively working on for more than 20 years through autogenic training. I was also interested in the technology.

Question 2: How satisfied are you with the accompanying app? Did you complete the Biofeedback Training course? Was it rewarding?

Answer: I didn’t do the Feedback-Training. See answer 1. The app funktioniert well, in that it objectified and manifested my subjective perception of my body temperature.

Question 3: What criticisms do you have of the Sensor and the App? Would you like to see different apps, and if so, for what purpose?

Answer: I have no criticisms. Maybe the price is a little high, considering that only one animation is included. [customers can use any videos of their own. Editor]. An app to combine your eSense with AV-Stimulation would be very interesting. [see the product: “MindLights”. Editor]

Question 4: Do you need an app for Android smartphones?

Answer: No.

Question 5: Would you recommend eSense to a friend?

Answer: Yes. It is certainly a useful training tool for anyone interested in feedback relaxation training.

Best regards from Itzehoe, Martin Ott

Customer: Pantaleon Fassbender

Question 1: For what application (e.g. stress relief) did you buy eSense?

Answer: Biofeedback for beginners, stress relief. Also for documentation of stress reactions in interviews, negotiations and interrogations.

Question 2: How satisfied are you with the accompanying app? Did you complete the Biofeedback Training course? Was it rewarding?

Answer: Worthwhile and good (particularly after the first update). The construction could be more robust for long term use.

Question 3: What criticisms do you have of the Sensor and the App? Would you like to see different apps, and if so, for what purpose?

Answer: It is probably not possible, but I would like a two channel version to monitor skin temperature and SCL simultaneously via the interface.

Question 4: Would an app for Android smartphones be useful?

Answer: No.

Question 5: Would you recommend eSense to a friend?

Answer: Yes.

Customer: Berd Alexei

Question 1: For which purpose did you buy the eSense (e.g. stress reduction)?

Answer: I use your product for GSR voluntary control training. It’s useful for stress reduction and also it’s useful for some patients, suffering from epilepsy with aura. Voluntary timely raising of GSR level (just in opposition to relaxation, though it sounds contra-intuitive) is good countermeasure for seizure onset (see Nagai et al studies).

Question 2: What do you think of the accompanying app? Have you used it for biofeedback training? Were you satisifed with the results?

Answer: The iPhone application is great, and sure I use it for biofeedback sessions.

Question 3: Was there anything you did not like about the eSense or the app? Would other apps for the eSense be useful, and if yes, with which purpose?

Answer: Well, it could make sense to add some guided exercises for training voluntary control of GSR: say, one given time interval for GSR downtraining, another interval uptraining, etc and some scores of progress. Something like Mental Games for ThoughtStream products.

Question 4: Would an app for an Android smartphone be useful?

Answer: Currently I don’t use any Android system.

Question 5: Would you recommend the eSense to friends?

Answer: Definitely yes!

Taking this chance I’d like to thank you again for your great product and customer support.
Your product is the winner in the field of IPhone BFB systems. Great idea and great implementation!

Thank you again, best regards, Alexei
